Enjoy the Air-Con & Try Not to be Hate the Work!

Ah... The air-con is finally fixed and the lights are back. But I'm still doing the almost forgotten Thai languaged Director application product.

Change, re-edit and re-localise the neverending changes requested from the client. You just can't get use to it. At one time, I think very hard just to switch the relevant sprites between the keyframes of the application's story. The transitions work in a linear way, just the in a video editiing program. But in a video editiing program, all you have to do to switch keyframes is to cut the clips and drag them to appropriate position of the time line. Imagine that now the clip itself have many different layers or the sprites. That was a headache.

I got lost at one time and I couldn't get help from Peipei as she's on the phone with a client for three darn hours. But after a good take-away of Burger King Double Mushroom Swiss Burger meal, I managed recover all my senses, mind and soul back to my body. I finally work out a solution for the problem.

But the strain and the damage on my brain was done. The day before, which was Wednesday. I found a strand of white hair just on head. I never seen it on the previous days before. I guess it was the painful Tuesday when I was working a stressful stage on a task.

Another comfort of the day was receiving my $450 pay for this month, it was to refill my bank account of about $100 plus after the need to pay or be sucked off $90 plus worth of school fees for this semester. As most of my friends know, I am financially independent, with consistent no pocket money given by my parents at all (perhaps only an occasional pocket money bonus from my father). I live by my savings and bursary awards. There were some fees I didn't really quite agree on. The students' union fee and the sports fee especially. I didn't use the poly-campus' sports equipments and facilities at all for this semester as I am on the internship, going to my office everyday to work. As for the students' union fee, I think my polytechnic students' union sucks as they don't fight for the rights for students, especially on this fee problem. The union was controlled strictly by the polytechnic management. I even heard that the schools fees were raised but no reason was given.

Although I didn't really like or dislike my work, I hoped Peipei calls me to work on this Sunday so I can earn as extra overtime pay : p

Tomorrow, there may be a disasterous meeting on the FYP. Hope the talks tomorrow ended in a peaceful way...

Bad Air, Bad Weather and Bad Environment.

Well, today's morning air outside the office building still smells like shit, practically. Yesterday the commercial gardeners smeared cow dung to fertilise the wayside plants. The street smells virtually like the smell of sewers all around the streets of Hong Kong when I last visited.

Then, I entered the office. I was in for another surprise. It was raining! It was not exactly raining though. The office aircon is "raining", or leaking water droplets all over Peipei's desk area. The aircon had over-worked after Nur and Diana camped overnight to work. A sight never to be seen since the raining days in a kampong house. Buckets, cups, containers to collect all the dripping water. To stop the heavy "rain", we have to shut down the aircon and wait for the repairman to come.

Now, with no air condition, temperature rises. Worse still, I've decided to wear black long sleeved shirt and a pair of long jeans. I'm feeling the heat. To cool the office down a bit, windows have to be opened. Lights have to be switched off to reduce less heat generated. Parts of the office are in the dark, with only some places illuminated by lights from the outside. The only consolation is that my place is illuminated. What a "good" morning for a start of the day.

As for yesterday's events, I was working on the same thing... Re-localisation of the bitmap objects in a Director application. Except this time, I working on the Thai languaged application which will take me about two weeks to complete, I think?

Same Thing.

Yes, it is the same thing like yesterday. Re-localisation of the bitmap objects in a Director application.

I say todays' work was more than a headache. It was multiple hits from an anvil dropping from the sky. I had a hard time finding all the layers of graphics on the Photoshop as they were all unnamed (named as default layer 1, 2 ,3 and etc). In order to find the correct layer, I have to hide and unhide the layers to see what the layers were. Worse still, they must be in that same size, position and colour as of the storyboard required when copied from the Photoshop files, directly into the Director's internal cast palette.

I was doing that darn task all day. I finally had my first break from work with five gals of my office at lunch. They are Peipei, Fong Peng, Linda, Yvonne and WanZhen. I enden up listening or maybe not even "recording" any of their chit-chat at all. My brain was pretty stunned from work already. Yvonne asked me why I'm so blocky and quiet. I can't say I'm tired from work, I'll screwed myself as a weak worker ant. Peipei's my supervisor for that task I'm working now. So I just told Yvonne, "My system was low on memory". The gals went "duh". Yvonne suggested I get a make-over with "just" thousands of dollars. I simply reply with this expression. (- . -)'''

Then, it was back to work till my second break at around 5pm, in which I was waiting for my Elective Selection Online site to open the server. I chose ACAN (Advanced Computer Animation) as my first chioce, AAUP (Advanced Audio Production) as the second and the redundant JSP (Java Server Pages or something to do with web programming. I can't remember) as third choice. I couldn't fit in the third choice modul and the remaining Games Development module because I wasn't fitting in their pre-requisites.

From there I work my ass off till 7pm. I finally finished all the tasks I've been assigned. *Phew*

Chiong All the Way

Today is all work and work and work, chionging non-stop. And I am still chionging my work while I'm typing this Blog.

In the morning, I managed to finish yesterday's work. Then, before noon at around 11pm, I had a 5 minute break from work. Then, I was assigned to document some textual content of the CD-ROM cover design page, prepared for English-Chinese translation for Linda. Then, I was doing the a related node module to yesterday's work. The requirements of the task is basically the same. Re-placing and re-positioning (or re-localisation they called it) of the bitmap objects in a Director application.

The progress was absolutely slow and a bit painful. I was changing and finishing one scene using 30-40 minutes of the time. I finished about 6 out of 12, that half done. Luckily, I got my idol's music to keep my sanity alive. Or I would have gone mad a long time ago...

Low Memory - Will Explode Once Thinking More Things.

Today, my back of my head felt like a computer system which will say, "Low Memory - Will Explode Once Thinking More Things".

I was continuing Friday's work. It gave me some problems to think and solve but that wasn't the only roots of all headaches I have today.

The major headache was the discussions I had with my teammates on the Final Year Project (FYP). It added fire to the fuel as I'm already down with solving re-placing and positioning of the bitmap objects in a Director application. If I had to replace the background of a scene, I had to replace all objects on the scene. Especially when some of the cast objects alignment and positions were already change to that of a newer version.

The only time of relief was to have and shopping at Bugis Junction with Wan Zhen. In which, I went to Sembawang Music CD Shop to get my idol, Stefanie Sun's lastest Album, The Moment . But too bad I couldn't listen to it during the office when I went back. My PC doesn't have a CD-ROM drive. Anyway, I was also a bit embarrass that my colleague, Jacqueline, had also bought it the same album today as today is the album's release date.

Tomorrow I can't continue the work I'm doing today as I'm assigned with another task to do first. I guess the task I'll be assign tomorrow will be more critical. I'll be only be able to continue today's work on Wednesday, which is the dateline given for me to finish it, PeiPei says... Anyway, I had a lot of questions to problems to ask PeiPei but she's on MC today. Looks like I may have to worry about it later.

Smooth.

Its a smooth day for me today. No "shiong" work that makes me tense, frustrated or go nuts. Everything went smoothly, but kind of lacking a bit of "fun" mood around in the office today. *ghee*.

I was still "debugging" my Chat Box during the early morning while chatting withe The Source, Mr Syazali. I was also trying to recover some HTML codes I lost while editing my Blog, the HTML codes of the right-aligned side-bar. Luckily, I manage to recover and re-correct them to the best I could withthe help of my Archives HTML docments. *phew*. After the close-shave, I attempted to create and programme a simple, small-sized application to display my so-called "Online" or "Offline" status at my Blogspot's Chat Box . So far, I have not succeed in doing it. I may need to bring my holy Macromedia Flash Foundation tutorial book to office again.

In the afternoon, I was re-editing and re-designing a Director file's graphics under the keyframe templates in some Photoshop layers. Editing bitmap layers and adjusting some text layers requested by client. I managed to finished them before the day ends. In the coming Monday, I have to put those graphic layers I did into the Director file I mention and change the old graphics into the new ones I've made.

Morning Walk in the Singapore Metropolis

Absolutely a crazy move this morning, I jogged or maybe I walked most of the time, in the heart of the Singapore metropolis. The starting point was from Raffles Place’s Change Alley and the finishing line was the Nam Peng Building in Bugis where my office is, of course.

Perhaps too longed, I didn’t jog. Perhaps I stopped too many times to break my rhythm of breathing. Or maybe I just don’t want to jog, as my idiotic waist bag is bulging and bulky, which is extremely irritating.

Anyway, once I came out of Raffles Place, I switched on my MP3 player and I was on the go. The place I wanted to go first was to see the Merlion at the new Merlion Park in front of One Fullerton. I wanted to cross the road using the Fullerton underpass, which is the most beautifully decorated underpass I ever seen in Singapore. I went to the Fullerton Hotel building to find the way to the underpass. But I was kind of lost on my way. To some loitering around the hotel was definitely undesirable. I may be mistaken for some terrorist with a “bomb” behind and around my waist (my waist bag) or just a terrorist spying the place. In the end, I took the pedestrian crossing across to the Esplanade Bridge to the Merlion Park…

After that, I went under the bridge. In the darkness underneath the bridge, I saw the orange glow reflected from the waters. In its full glory, the Merlion stands proud facing the morning sun. It was awesome. It was beautiful. Then, my MP3 player played the latest NDP 2003 theme song, One Singapore, I felt my nationalist blood flowing. I walked towards the watching platform of the Merlion Park, as some early Japanese tourists tooks pictures with the famous Merlion. And there was one Ang Moh, who professionally took the pictures of the amazing landmark at the mouth of the Singapore River.

I took a nice 15 minutes to view all the beautiful sceneries and the skyscrapers, including the Merlion. The Singapore skyline of strong structures looks great tinted with the colours of the sun. The morning Sunkist silhouettes the speeding vehicles on the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, as golden orange lights help the waters glitter. I felt the sea breezes and the “saliva” of the Merlion on my face.

After the enjoyment of the spirits, I jogged and perspire under the warmth of the morning sun, across the Esplanade Bridge. I walked along the War Memorial Park , the Raffles City with its Westin Stamford Hotel, pass the classic entrance of the Raffles Hotel with the Silkish doorman watching guard. I slowly strolled back to my office building. Along the way, I found a lost cashcard in a bush. But I do not know whether there’s any value in it yet.

I made my way to the office as David already opened the office doors, just a few minutes before I entered the office. Then I went to take a shower to wash myself and get changed.

I am ready to start my day…

Hmm... Surprisingly, there was no more "bugs" in my Chat Box . Maybe I couldn't see my updates immediately yesterday, on my obsolete Macintosh G3 machine. The original problem of all the posted messages text was the camoflaging with the background or too light to be seen was solved. I still have to change some to the text colours and the scrollbar colours to match both my Chat Box and Message Post colour schemes. Hope I don't screw them up again.

But finally, I can read almost all of the chat messages properly. Except The Source's or Syazali's chat messages. They are flying around like Superman, but its alright. I just have to strain my eyes harder.

Brains Cracking

A busy day for my brains. Today is absolute like a normal working day. All men and women in my office are all indulge in their own work. Including me.

I was editing my Chat Box, to make its colour theme as similar as the one of the Message Post. Message Post was made using the server on ZonkBoard.com. The easy thing is that it have a "Manage Colours" session to allow you to customise the colours you want easily. On the other hand, Chat Box was made using MyShoutBox.com, which doesn't have an user interface session to allow users to change and customise the colours easily. Instead it requires you to use a Cascading Style Sheet (.CSS format) template from them, edit the CSS file yourself using HTML, upload it to a server and link the CSS file with a special HTML to the page you want to display it.

Due to my inferior skills and understanding of HTML, especially with the Cascading Style Sheet (I know I should have learn the CSS skills a year ago, but I didn't). Worse still there were so many colour codes in the template of CSS file they gave, I do not know what changes what. And I still cracking my brains and changing it through trial-and-error... So bear with the high frequency of changes of my Chat Box , my friends. I'm still "debugging" it.

Anyway, I got an assigned work to do during the late morning, to document some textual elements in a Director application in a Word document. Tabulised them in order to make it a list of English textual elements to be translated into Chinese in China.

I continued the CSS file editing in the late evening. But I'm gonna continue to "debug" it tomorrow. Haiz...

Sneeze & Sniff All Day.

My oldfactory can't smell anything much today. Cleaning some dust in the early morning provoke my nasty allergic reactions and now made sneeze and sniff all day.

I manage to finish the stuff I was suppose to do yesterday by using the whole morning's time. The task was the translation with localisation of the Photoshop text layers. The work went smoothly like a breeze as I'm use to it already, but with sneezes along the way, they made me slightly slower in productivity.

In the afternoon, my Macintosh G3 machine was used by my colleagues for a while. I went to burn some multimedia library files for Wong, as he will be returning tomorrow for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to setup up the Malaysian office branch there. His duration of his temporary work permit in Singapore will soon expire, that's why he got to return to Malaysia. But he'll be back after one month.

In the evening, I've did some editing on my Blogspot's template. I've added the Message Post and the Chat Box.

Message Post is solely use for posting messages of recommendations, notice board and others. You can also use it like a short messaging email system. But please, absolutely no chat for Message Post. For chats, please use Chat Box. Message Post is a ZonkBoard from Zonkboard.com and Chat Box is from MyShoutBox.com.

They look like the "in-things" for many people's Blogs, I realised. Now you, my dear friends can chat or message to me using my Message Post and Chat Box .

A Day of Non-Stop Action.

Yes! Finally, I found work! No... I mean... Work found me!

Today was a great breakthrough. I finally have important work to do to make me feel responsible to achieve. But perhaps I've be slacking too long in the office. I almost could not handle it. It was a day of non-stop action in the office.

I finally got my Student's Log Book back and my performance grading for the last month. Surprisingly, I got both a "B" grade for both my conduct and performance. I only expected at most a "C" grade because I felt that I've achieve nothing much in the office.

I came to the office puntually on time as usual. I was preparing to finish burning all the CD-Rs Keith told me to do. But I could as my colleague Kernis return from a "medical leave". I have to postpone the task on hand till I have the time as welll as the resources.

Then, during the later morning, Nur ask me to come over and I did. Nur said to me, "Since you were so diligent getting to learn After-Effects and borrow my users' guide. I decide to give you some work." Then I thought, "What?! As if I'm not dilligent, you not gonna give work..." Anyway, worse still, I sense a bit of sarcasm and unforseen challanges. He gave me to an English-Chinese translated script and told me to translate and localise them. Perhaps too long I didn't take any orders for works or many there two too much un-organised structure of instruction by both Nur and Linda. I didn't get the instructions totally into the objectives of the work task, but got it right somewhat.

In the early afternoon, we celebrated the birthdays of Bernard and Kernis, we have a birthday cake and KFC for the short party. Saved some money for the a free lunch today. Didn't have the heart to party even for a while. I was thinking about the task on hand.

In the afternoon, I thought I finished the work. I felt good and freed for a while.

Then, Michelle called me to her while Nur checks my work. She told me whether I could stay for over-time as she needs me to do something related to After-Effects. I was a bit rejective as I told her I only had all the After-Effects basic skills right a few days ago with only about less than 48 hours of tutorial lesson, with no much hands on practical. But she told me that she could give me another crash course. But luckily, Nur called me back to him (there, I left Michelle and promised her to come back later for a short while) and Nur said I have some more to continue. I went back to Michelle with a grin and said I have something to continue. She told me to go back. Heng ah...

I still have an impending task to do, to help Keith burn the CD-Rs. Seeing my fellow TP friends so free, I passed the job to Chin Leong. At the end of the day, he told me that its not pretty simple to organise and burn the batches of files. As the files' disk size differ, not very possible to burn everything under one folder onto a CD-R disc with only 700MB of disk space.

I manage to complete about half of the task till the end of the day. Still got a long way to complete it. My eyes were tired, the Chinese characters on the monitor screen looks like blocks of blocks. On time, I went off work at around 6pm and I went home... Before someone asks me to stay for more work...

Oh ya, the new female, NYP design intern's name is Wan Zeng. She looks cool, but a bit too quiet.

Burn Baby Burn.

Today, I have no major assigned work to do again. Haiz… Just really do not know what the hell am I doing in this office for...

Today, there’s a new intern from Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), major in design. Her name is… ah… can’t remember. Wait I ask again. Anyway, she’s assigned the CD top label cover design task, which was initially assigned by Yvonne to me a few days ago but withdrawn.

Productively, I managed to finish learning my online Adobe After-Effects the digital-tutors.com amazingly, with total time of less than 48 hours. Why, after finishing the “Effects” level of the tutorial I realised other levels were all redundant as it is basically the same of the “Effects” level. Because of that I started working on the tutorial lesson clips of the Maya Basics.

In the afternoon till the evening, I spent my time burning 30GB+ worth of data to CD-Rs. Whoo… Never burn so much data at a go throughout my life. I guess the task would need at least about 25 CD-Rs to burn finish all the data. This period should be burning joss papers instead of burning CD-Rs...

Suntan at the Beach.

I'm gonna sit here and wait for something to come to me.
Maybe I'll just enjoy the breeze for now...

This morning at 9.10am, I went down to an Indian coffee shop had a nice 40 to 50 minutes breakfast of roti pratas and teh tariks with nine colleagues. They are Nur, Wong, Jason, Shahid, Sidik, Bernard, Kernis, Diana, and Linda. They are like The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring ‘s fellowship and I’m the Gollum who “kay po” also follow them. Together, they are The Fellowship of the Breakfast with Smithels (me!), of course! Ah ha ha ha ha! Small Boss Jeffrey was pretty stunned to see ten of us beeping our electronic clocking cards when we enter the office. Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Ha ha ha!

Finally, I finish watching all of the Adobe After-Effects tutorial lesson clips of the basics after watching the whole morning. Adobe After-Effects is definitely user-friendlier, to me that I have realised. Because of its similarities of its interface metaphors between Adobe After-Effects and other Adobe programmms. The keyframe interpolation of the Adobe After-Effects which works like the track view and the function curves of the Discreet 3D Studios Max. If this is the case, once I finished learning Adobe After-Effects, I realized I could also easily pick up how to work on the WatchOut programme, which works similarly to Adobe After-Effects, except it could not deal with 3D objects and does not work on combustion as well.

Once I finished the Adobe After-Effects tutorial lesson clips, maybe I would move on to Maya. Or even try to learn SoftImage from Wong. I’ll ask him to introduce good SoftImage tutorials online. These few days of empty work made me knowledge thirsty.

Cast Away with Boring Office Retards Eiizumi Disorder (B.O.R.E.D.)

These days are getting so redundant I feel like killing someone. Facing the damn bloody monitor surfing and playing Yahoo! Games. I felt perfectly like Tom Hanks as Chuck Norland in the movie Cast Away ... Just me and the souless damn, deflated soccer ball with a face drawn of the same expression everyday. Now I'm down with Boring Office Retards Eiizumi Disorder (B.O.R.E.D.) .

The days of wait are getting long, man...

Today, Yvonne who came back from overseas, told me to design the CD top cover. But I took about one hour to edit all the needed graphics. I can't decide the colour scheme as she wanted a gold background with 4 cartoon graphics accompanied with four milk-powder tin cans which are real, sticked together and can be only divided into two sets of two tin cans stuck together for life. The only problems were what and how to focus on which graphic or text with a gold background and integrate totally real and unreal objects with such a lame coloured background? I told her the problem but she decides to withdraw the task from me and I think shes gonna do it by her own. Her withdrawal made abit *argh*. But I realised its her character after having chats with other colleagues about her on other topics. She is very capable but a bit tactless, like Kent Chan (but Kent Chan is worse).

I'm definitely the most nothing-to-do guy in the office and I'm not proud of that : (

Without any assigned work, I have to release my boredom by going online to http://www.digital-tutors.com to learn the Adobe After-Effects programme and act busy. But soon enough, I ended up playing Yahoo! Literati in between the tutorial clips. I even ignored Small Boss Jeffrey's presence when he's just beside me supervising my fellow interns. Something definitely is wrong, man...

I came to office to work. Not to see, to sit and to surf. Although I looked very upset with my work when I'm working. I was thinking whether anybody seen that as "hated" work. Sometimes I even curse and swear (not very loud but can be heard), that's not because I hated work. I know that's my responsibility and I will do my best (when I wanted to). I hated myself for being ignorance at some points of the work and doing redundant small mistakes. A few small mistakes I made could make me frustrated and upset for a period of time. I curse and swear at myself to because I'm a total perfectionist. That is the character of an Aquarian like me.

I truly apologised if I had misinterpreted and misunderstood anybody then and now. And I also wish I would not be misinterpreted and misunderstood as well.

Too Slow, Too Boring.

Today's time went pretty slowly. No assignment of big task, except asking me to cut our CD-ROM's cover front design.

Played Yahoo! Games most of the day. Yahoo! Pool and Yahoo! Literati. Absolutely boring, I'm sorry to say.

Today's lunchtime's not very dramatic either. Went for snooker first but my skills totally sucks big time. I preferred playing pool. Then we went for an expensive meal of total $7.20 for some Malay nasi, ayam drumstick, otah, thick coconut-milked curry zharp chai and a glass of bandung. I'm left with only five bucks in my wallet.

Blue Screen of Death and Internet Server Down.

Well, pretty screwed on this day, even though no assigned work. The Windows PC called the "JackPC" turn on Microsoft's famous Blue Screen of Death. Although this happens everyday when I attempt to switch on the PC, I just need to restart the PC again to recover. But now, JackPC need when to the network login window again, it just shows its dead face of blue.

I managed to type my Blog successfully as just now, for no good reason, our internet server went down. We called Jason, our programmer as well as technician, who was in Philippines about the problem. The solution was simply switch off and on the modem.

As for now, few of my colleagues are having a game of Yahoo! Literati, I'm gonna join them...

Yawnzzz...

Sian. Jeffrey, our Small Boss is back to the office. But still no important assigned work by any of the colleagues. I felt a bit redundant.

I continue to spend my times doing my vector graphics for my Flash website. I manage to do some simple silhouettes of newpapers and magazines stacks which is part of the "newspaper-stand" graphic. Its not progressing well as my two hour work was wipe out and goner when an error message pop out of nowhere declaring my Macromedia Flash MX programme has gone berserk. I had to redo it twice. Now it is finally completed but I still gotta add more mess of magazines, newpapers and other silohouettes to make the "newspaper-stand" more like a newpaper-stand.

And later Wong and I may go and LAN gaming again. If he got the time that is...

One Singapore.

Nice National Day. Stayed at home throughout the whole day. Lunch was Bak Kut Teh plus rice bought by my mother. Then in the evening I made soup from a can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken and cooked it with a packet of instant noodles plus two eggs. Very nice, taste like spagetti. Then made a nice cup of ice Milo too and sat down and enjoy the National Day Parade 2003.

The NDP 2003 was great and I wished I was there, the mood will be entirely different And maybe I wanna join the parade because I'm a fan of the singer Stefanie Sun. (Heh heh heh...) But sadly, I missed her twice for the last year's and this year's parades (Aw...).

This year's NDP is great not because the efforts made by the performers and organisers. But the past events we've gone through, especially that of the SARS outbreak period. I felt something for it. I felt something stuck in my throat. When I remembered one of my friend had lost his parents to the SARS, I felt what would happen to me if I lost any of my friends and family. I felt the need to have my family and friends beside me everyday and to appreciate it. I think everybody should appreciate what they have, including their friends and family.

But after all the sadness and despair, I have seen Singapore grown stronger and the people have a better sense of belonging to our nation. I hope every Singaporean will not forget all the dangers and tragedies we braved. These stories should be all remembered and told to our children, our grand-children and our future descendants.

Groundhog Day.

Same thing we do everyday, Pinky. Try to enjoy the days without bosses and no assigned work! You don't need me to repeat this everyday, don't we?

OK, did two vector graphics similar of yesterday's, "cinema entrance" and "newspaper-stand". The "newspaper-stand" requires some magazines, newspapers and others though.

Today's lunch was good. Together with Diana, Sidik, Nur and Wong, we even had about an hour of playing pool. My skills is mediocre compared to theirs.

Anyway, tomorrow is National Day, Singapore's 38th birthday! And I wish every Singaporeans to have a happy weekend, including you my friends. Majulah Singapura !

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Deja Vu.

This kind of days kept repeating, deja vu. But I like it! Without any assigned work or being watch by the bosses. Even though they had a webcam in the office, I am pretty out of the angle (ha!).

Like yesterday, I did almost the same thing. But today, I even downloaded Delta Force 2 Demo to play the action game online. Sidik is doing his tasks related to the Vitagen, the TP interns did their website editing today. The rest was doing their day job when the bosses are not around. All I only did for my Flash site was a silhouette of my so-called "city hall" vector graphic. But hey, I finally did something I never did for the past two years of poly life. Create a vector graphic on my on with my own preference.

Later, I gonna go LAN gaming with the 3D fanatic free-lancer, Wong. Surprising he's in 30s, but he looked like he's in the early 40s. But I can only play about an hour or so because I rushing home to watch my favourite Chemistry and its back on Channel 5, Thursday, 8.30pm!

Fate changes everything...

Another Day.

Another day of no work and no boss, thought one of the boss would return today but he never came to the office.

Every in the office have a pretty relaxing except for the team of people doing an application for Vitagen. They are our poor Sidik, Nur, Bernard, Wong and Kernis. Almost all of their original work has to be amended. The others are not so stressed and was in a better relaxing mood. Espcially for the rest of the three interns including me and the other two TP students. The two latters, I could see there are really bored, even when they were playing Yahoo! Pool all day. But I guess tomorrow will not be bored.

I was editing with my Flash website's rollover buttons completed with some interactive sounds and a short music for the whole morning and the early afternoon. After that, I was messing around with my Blog's settings and template and type this Blog.

Tomorrow will definitely not be as good as today as the mood changes once the bosses return. If there's no work tomorrow, I'll try and figure out how to put my portfolio stuff into the flash. This includes reducing the space size needed for the video clips (probably compressed it or find a site that I can upload my video files and link them to my Flash site) and make them with video controls.

No Bossing Around, Yet a Productive Day.

Well, today is a day of freedom. Absolutely no assigned work and no bossing around. But today is a productive day for me as I was editting my Flash website and revamping the whole BlogSpot template and design.

The Flash website was perfected to the highest quality added with a simple animation of the moving city silhouette. I official named my personal website as Eiizumi City, because I'm going to use the structures of city as its metaphor. Mei Fang kindly taught me how to change my original website address to more cooler site name. The new web address for my personal website is http://verycool.at/EiizumiCity. This change was simply an URL re-direction through the use of this website, http://www.has.it.

To make sure my BlogSpot has similar design colour scheme, I even went to fidget with its XML in its main template tab. Its quite difficult to spot where is where and to change where and what. I finally did it using about 2 to 3 hours time, and managed to get it all right. Althought I have some problem with the settings' description, which is, the text is white, the background is white, and you can't see a thing. I can't find the XML to change the colour of the font. So I have to use graphics links to make sure they have the right contents. It came out pretty cool though.

No Monday Blues.

A perfect day without any heavy work.

The bosses are not here again. One went Malaysia and the other went Thailand.

This whole morning is almost without any work, with only a lttle "paper work". I edited the Word documents needed by a client within 30 to 40 minutes. Then, I spent the rest of the morning doing some testing for my website using just the Macromedia Flash MX, to create a Flash application online. It got out okay (to visit my Flash applcation online, see the above website address) even though I spend quite some time figuring out how to do Flash again. But there is a problem, there is something wrong with the colour depth, probably because of the web colours incompatibility. I think I may change it to web colours if that is the problem. Maybe it could be also information lost because I copy and paste graphics directly from the Photoshop to the Flash programme. If that happens, I could save individual layers in the Photoshop into other format files and import them into Flash programme.

For rest of the afternoon, I ate my lunch. Then returned to the office to further edit my Flash application and try some simple animation. After that, the rest of the day was simply playing Yahoo! Pool all the way with Sidik, Chin Leong and other online gamers.

Sleepy Saturday, Bank in the Dollars and Budget the Money

Lovely weekend.

I spent many hours sleeping my ass off from yesterday 11.30pm to 9am today. I even took a 3 hour afternoon nap from 4 pm today.
Feels like a good friend Matthew doing his famous "Sloth Don't Move" skills. Tomorrow I'm still gonna sleep till noon.

I hope these make up all the lost time of sleep for 19 days of work.

Now, I went slight late to a crowded bank at Clement today than expected because I was awakening from 9am to 9.30am. I went to deposit my two cheques of $273.91 basic hours pay and $200 over-time pay I received yesterday.

I already planned to spend my allowances for the internship on the things-to-buy list below (numbered by priority):

1) New Teva sandals -
My freaking old, $15 sandals which normally last for a duration of 6 months finally expired with the sole off the left shoe. It lasted a month longer I think. I decide to budget around $100+ to buy a new pair of sandals. This wasn't part of the plan at first. But now I'm getting a new pair and hope I don't replace them for at least 2 years.

2) New Nokia MMS Handphone -
Haven't decide what model to buy to replace my obsolete Nokia 3310. The old Nokia's battery is dying out and I have to charge it everyday. The old handphone's power bar would give me two bars of power or less when I only did an one minute call. Although my buddy, Elvin, told me buying a new battery cost only $15, I decided to change a new one. There is the new Nokia 6100 and 6610 in mind. Most probably the Nokia 6610, equipped with FM synthesiser and other features. It is cool enough. Bugetised at $400+.

3) New Sony DiscMan -
I still got my MP3 player is still intact after 2 years but it aged a little... Also I feel very limited to download ony 32MB of music althought it is a good music player to bring with when I'm jogging. I decide to buy a new Sony DiscMan with many features, probably with CD-R/RW capabilities. I forget what model was it. I saw a sleek one at West Mall's Harvey Norman when I'm window shopping with a friend. Bugetised at $200+.

3) New Digital Camera -
This product I'm only on a provision to buy. It is not as essential to my lifestyle than the top three above. I am still considering whether it is gonna be a good investment to use for my interests in digital photography to capture beautiful memories and sights forever as well as using it for other multimedia usage for work. You might ask me why not get a MMS handphone equipped with digital camera. I thought of it as a bit too un-professional for a future multimedia professionel.

That's all I can remember for my current Christmas list. Looks like a major buy-out though. I must stress I'm not a matrialistic person. Those could just help out with my lifestyle.

Oh... My eyes! My eyes!

Well, Friday. The last day of the weekdays. I managed to finish the horrible Thai corrections on the Director application yesterday at around 8pm, which I had done for 3 to 4 bloody days. The battle was over but I hope peace will rein for the next few days. including this weekend. I've lost my weekends over the last two weeks already.

There's still about 13 weeks of war left. Aw...

Now, I finally finished my battle and I'm gonna stand here to see some light.
But *Ouch*, my eyes hurts after so many days of facing my enemy, "The 19-inch Monitor".
