The Results Released!

Today, morning of Friday.

Early hours of the of the new Friday, I immediate log-on to enquire on my module grades of this semestal results.

These are the grades what I got for the four modules I took:

Multimedia Group Project - A
Advanced Computer Animation - B
Advanced Audio Production - C
Ethics and Law of IT - C

Am I happy and satisfied with the results?

Yes, I am happy and satisfied with the results. I have to be. I got to be happy with what I have becos' there are so hard to get.

There's no room for regrets as they are all over now... And I'm happy enough to get over this pretty horrible diploma course. (^-^)

I am particularly happy that I got no "D" grades, because I thought I had enough already, 7 "D" grades with one "Pass" throughout my poly life looks pretty bad enough for my diploma. But most of them were really hard to pass, except for a few so-called regrets.

Anyway, not only I am particularly happy with the expected "A" and "B" grade I've got for the semestral results, I am also happy that the unpredictable modules of Advanced Audio Production (AAUP) and Ethics and Law of IT (ELIT) wre not only of a pass, but good passes with "C" grades. I am glad with them because most of time were devoted to the other two modules of Multimedia Group Project (PROJ) and Advanced Computer Animation (ACAN), which really consumed a lot of my time (as well as other coursemates' time) to be devoted into them as they must be completely done well. So in turn, the other two modules' practical time were sacrificed a lot.

I am really happy and satified with my results. All the sacrifices and devotion I've made were paid off!

*v(^o^)v*

And now look at my grades I got for my whole poly life.

1 Distinction,
3 As,
9 Bs,
9 Cs,
7 Ds and
1 Pass.

As you can see, my acaedemic life in the SP-DMMT course is quite a struggle. The problem with the course was simple, we're basically learning the multimedia jack-of-all-trades with only under less than 3 years' time, which is a mission impossible (unless you're a total crazy studious geek student). Not to mention the course is not properly split into specialised field diplomas.

Multimedia, the word itself explained it all. Not only it is a big buzz word, but the multimedia industry itself have many, many different specialised fields like digital film and video productions, digital audio and music productions, web publishing, application design and programming, CD-ROM applicationdesign and programing (including games appllications of all sorts), graphics design, 2D Flash animations or Flash applications, visual effects and 3D animation productions. Even more, productions stages from pre-production stage, production stage and post-production stage required different skills and knowledges, different management skills like managing human resources, logistics of equipments and other resources, and also time management between different projects.

For this end was only a beginning. For my multimedia career, there is still a long road ahead of me...

Success is So Sweet! *v(^o^)v*

Yesterday, day of Tuesday.

Yesterday was like almost just like a normal day in which I slack in fron of my home PC slacking and surfing the internet.

But I did something extra, slightly progressive that requires my creative mind. Seeing Andhika having a "trademark" of his own. I decided to make myself one "trademark" that truely represents me as an unique individual living in this big, big world.

And so I made these prototypes.

 Posted by Hello

The Eiizumi's prototype "trademarks".

They come in two different main colour schemes. One is of the cooling gradience of light blue and white colour, and the other, a solid black. With some shadows to make them look more dimensional.

The mark is actually a Chinese character deprive from my Chinese name. The character "quan" or meaning the "natural, spring water" or "izumi" in Japanese.

The Chinese chracter "quan" is made up of two Chinese sub-characters also. The two Chinese sub-characters are the character "bai" or meaning "white" (the one which looks like the small letter "e") and another character "shui" or "water" (the one with one vertical straight line with two curves convexing in).

The whole character "quan" could meant "The white water is clear and pure (to drink)".

The sub-character "bai" depicts "the goodness". The "e" looking "bai" also represents my Japanese Hiragana name, "Eiizumi".

The "shui" looking sub-chracter represents the Way, or the contrasting opposites of nature. Which can be simply define by a dividing line, into good or evil. The two opposing forces of natures are the curves. It represents my struggle to achieve balance in my life.

The sub-character "shui" represents the universal element, "water", depicting as the "source of life" (well, no living thing can survive without water). It meant I am part of this universe, a vital life to add up to the meaning of life on Earth.

The colours are all my favourite colours. There's light blue (althought it looks more like teal), white, black and, if you didn't actually notice, grey, which is under the shadow shades.

The Eiizumi mark with the colours white and light blue represents the day, just like the colours of the skies with the clouds during the day. These represents my positive emotions, to achieve my desired happiness and peace.

The Eiizumi mark with colour black represents the night, the coldness of the nights, the aloof and unknown deepness in me and perhaps, the romantic side of me... I followed a simple design style of Zen.

But all come to all, the grey shadows behind the characters says the negativities I tried hard enough to put it behind me...

I can tell you, the Eiizumi "trademarks" are designed to be truely representing me...

Heh... Too deep and profound? Maybe its just me. (^o^)

Yesterday, evening of Tuesday.

I went to Huimin's house to play mahjong with Ah-Ge (Chee Wee's elder cousin brother, the usher. That's how we called him), Huimin, Chee Wee and Hong Yun. The session was suppose to start during evening to midnight. But Huimin was very late. She came back home at only 10pm with her friend Claudia. And then both of them each took time to bath...

So the rest of us will have to wait...

So meanwhile, Ah-Ge, Chee Wee, Hong Yun and I went down to check out Ah-Ge's rented, outdated car (because Ah-Ge's sisters met a small "accident"). But after checking, it was nothing but simple scratches.

After the check, Chee Wee and Hong Yun took their chances to have some short driving practices with the car around the neighbourhood. We couldn't venture on heavier traffic roads as what they were doing was illegal. We don't want to get caught by the traffic police you know...

Chee Wee went to drive the car first, followed by Hong Yun later.

Chee Wee initially didn't even switch on the headlights! Only when his family around the area saw our car withour headlights switched on, they called to inform us in the car. Only then, we realised the mistake. Hong Yun on the other hand was on par with Chee Wee skills (I have no right to judge as they're better drivers than me! I don't drive!).

I was in their car when both latters were driving. I had no fear but just joking about it at times. Although, the driving practices wasn't totally smooth, I can only say they still need more practices for the tough Singapore driving test standards.

Today, early mornings of Wednesday.

Finally, when we returned back to Huimin's house. We were finally able to start out mahjong session. Hong Yun and Chee Wee paired up, while Huimin and Claudia paired up themselves and took turns to play.

After many rounds of mahjong games overnight, I ended up as the biggest loser, losing around two bucks plus only. But there was only one winner, the rest lose only few tenths of cents. The winner was the Hong Yun and Chee Wee pair. They won around three bucks plus I think.

The mahjong session ended pretty early compared to previous sessions I had. Only at around 3am. By then before, I already called off the idea of going for the NAPFA test that day, as it was too late to go and I needed some sleep. Even if I go for the NAPFA test in the morning, I doubt I could make it, which is just like the previous test, lack of sleep.

So all of us went to sleep at Huimin's house till around 8am.

I was the first to wake up due to the hussle of activities of the hosting family members. Hong Yun and Chee Wee was still asleep then. After that most of Huimin's family members left the house. I read the morning newspapers for a while and then I realised the results of the modules were out by that time.

So I used the PC there and to check my results and I see that...
I PASSED EVERYTHING and I AM OFFICIALLY GRADUATING TILL GRADUATION DAY!!!

Success is sure so sweet! *v(^o^)v*

(Boy, I was really elated for myself and very happy then! I finally got out of that bloody DMMT course of SP!) *Yipeee!!!*

Then, Hong Yun and Chee Wee took their turns to check their results. They made it to graduation too! And so we congratulated each other.

Ah-Ge and Huimin finally woke up at around 9am plus. Everybody finally left the house and took Ah-Ge's rented car back home (or for work...). Hong Yun was dropped near his neighbourhood while I was dropped at a bus-stop to take a more direct bus home rather than the more indirect MRT transit...

"(^o^)I wish to congratulate all those who are graduating with me! Best wishes and blessings for your future!" ~ Eiizumi

I Love the Sun so much, the Sun gave me lots of Sunshine!

Sunny day, Sunday.

Yesterday was definitely a nice day to tan my skin under the sun. Bryan, Chee Wee, Hong Yun and I went to Sentosa's Siloso Beach for some sun as well as some nice sceneries (^o^)

The skies were blue and the clouds were high. There were no low-level clouds in sight. The heat was almost as intense as the days before. walking bare-footed on the sandy beaches promised blisters, so most of us tried to wear some footwear from preventing it.

Otherwise we simply kept our feet cool one way or the other. But for the whole body, there was no better thing than the sea-water.

For most of the days, we were simply lying down tanning ourselves (without any protection of the sunblock) on the sand. After a while, we would jump into the cool waters to cool ourselves down. Then we would be there chatting on different topics and looking out for beachy babes around... Not only that, we also just keep on swimming back and forth against the waves or with the waves.

I had also bought a frisbee, just in case we got nothing to play. We did play frisbee on the open sandy beach, but the blazing sunshine was very hot. We only played a while. Even with some footwear, the hot sand proved that the air was also hot. The rays were also killing our skins.

So not for long, we ended up doing the rotating activities of going into the water or lying on the beach to tan ourselves.

I didn't really get myself to tan as much as others. I was trying to be careful not to get over-burnt and became "chao da". As I did got some suntanning from some routined swimming activities on other previous days or weeks before.

But still in the end, I still got slightly sunburnt. I can't imagine what happened to the rest of the beach boys...

Evening of Sunday.

At around the earliest of the evening, we started packing up and headed for the usually crowded showers, and then leave Sentosa.

We went to the Harbourfront hawker centre to eat our lunches or as well as dinners. After the meals, Hong Yun left first. The rest of us, Bryan, Chee Wee and I went to take the MRT transit to head for Dhouby Ghaut.

And you might have guessed, we went to LAN game at the Parklane Shopping Mall's LAN gaming shop. We had our fun then. We didn't want to head back home immediately after the beach outing. Or it could have been quite an anti-climax for the whole day of "fun" we had...

We LAN gamed till very late around 10pm, before we left the place. We went home taking different transportations on either bus or MRT transit...

Now, I'm sufffering from slight pain from the slight sunburn on my back and arms... Xo *Ouch*

Under the Hotting Heat of Summer...

This week, Monday to Friday.

Hot! Hot! Hot! On this whole week, this is what how many people felt, the great temperature feeling of sweating it down. But most also felt the heat pretty hard to take. Many would simply be a happier camper in any air-conditioned room or area at anywhere to try and cool down.

For me, I felt the temperature's change, but my heat to have some fun before I head for the vacation work is still strong (maybe it is becos' I haven't find a job yet). Just like any of my hottie friends out there, we're trying to be cool during this summer. But definitely our parents would definitely be hot on our heels to tell us to get a job quick.

Ain't our parents lovely?

Monday and Tuesday.

Anyway on Monday and Tuesday, I was camping at home at my sister's air-conditioned room doing all the cyberculture on my home PC, and also looking jobs online. One of the administrative job I've apply never seem to reply with any news, my faith on it is beginning to die and I couldn't find any jobs I prefer right now than that. Not only that, I'm also pretty hesitant to directly communicate with the job giver. The time frame they gave was pretty much within my desired timeframe before my NS enlistment. But it'll start slight too early on the last week of May, in which I still have quite a number of activities going there.

Looks like I'm going to try harder and lower my preferences for any job. Though I prefer desktop jobs, cos' it'll accumulate my experiences which I may need. I prefer jobs that required some of intelligent challenge before my brains gets rusty too much.

Day of Wednesday.

On Wednesday, I finally got my butt to re-visit my former ITP company colleagues that I promised Shahid and the rest of the guys for so long. But sadly, on that day of visit, everyone was simply too busy to be entertained or entertain me (they were pretty sick of their work of their ever-going work I guess, even when the boring bosses were not around). I wasn't really on a mood of entertaining anybody much either.

I felt something was really amiss... Maybe it was becuase they were working and I'm not. And that really made me feel weird. I felt I was at the wrong place, at the wrong time... (When I went back there, I felt like a lost sheep... The other shepherds were too busy tending the goats...)

And I caused a few problems for them when I was there, and I'm really sorry...

The first place I've visited was not the main office where I was last time, but the other room which they converted into a studio where that spaceship sound recording room was also there. It was pretty comfortable for the studios environment.

The place was the working place for Nur, Bernard and Shahid. Peipei was there (but I thought she was too busy to be talked too, I didn't talk to her at all... Well, I think any interuption to her work may mess up her life...)

There was one problem with the studios though, the small spaceship recording room was not very sound-proofed, it was too sound sensitive. Even the air-conditioners working sounds could be recorded. So they'll need to switch off the air-con systems whenever they are doing recordings of sounds, especially fot the voice talents. So the voice talents suffered in the puny, unventiliated speaceship recording room, especially in this crazy summer heat. It was definitely very uncomfortable. The Digimagic bosses' smart investments in anti-productive measures, I can only say.

The studios' outside's small lobby was painted in the favourtite Digimagic trademark colour scheme, purple. Shahid was the painter. Ha ha ha! Another one of the bosses' cost saving measure, cheap labour. But hey, Shahid did a nice paint job though for only a person working on that area (but frankly speaking, its only painting an area of a small toilet... So don't compliant too much... hee...).

Then I went back to the main office. So much as changed. It was more "opened". There was really many new people, either permanent staff of interns. Ever the company's title and logo changed. The trademark certain looks more light-hearted now, but everyone was taunting the "Digimagic" title's missing "c", which became "Digimagi".

So where did the magic go? = )

I was pretty shy to talk when I was back at the main office, I just felt pretty awkward... Don't know why... Maybe there's too maybe people I didn't know there... ("It is like what is that joker doing here? Looking for trouble?" That kind of feeling...)

Kernis, David, Jason, Fong Peing, Michelle, Peipei, Keith (Keith was visiting the place as a non-Digimagician) and Meifang (What and why she's doing there? Freelance for two weeks). I think I missed a few people I didn't see. Where's Yvonne and Linda? I didn't see their faces. Linda was maybe there, it was just that her back was facing me, I think?

So, only Shahid, Kernis, Keith , Dawn (a new administrator replacing Aida) and Net(A new missy. I don't know how to spell, sounds something like that. She looks like a good replacement for Diana...) were down at the mama shop for tea.

Kernis was back from her two days of medical leave. Still a bit weak looking but was still very talkative.

I didn't talked much with anybody but to Shahid. Yet most of the time I was simply listening...

The main topic was Keith's new business setup in the food industry at Ang Mo Kio area. He was in partnership with another business partner in importing some Malaysian food snacks or dishes not seen in Singapore. I hoped for the best in his business, of course. Finally, he's sick of multimedia project management... Food management should be more easier I think. Easier to satisfy your customers' tastes. It is simply either good or bad, no different aesthetic views needed.

Then I was back to the studios again, where I stayed pretty stagnant in the heated room by the switched off air-conditioners, crazy heating projectors and hanging Macintosh computers. Wasn't talking much to the people there.

Nur and Shahid was planning to do something but I don't really know what crappy stuuf are they going to do to me if they're doing it. They said it was an music video. They said they done a prototype of some sort, but I never seen it. They were too busy. I was there to see them do there work and being a bit too high on volume at times (Sorry again, guys).

(Doing a music video... I was looking forward to do it. I did enjoy the experience on doing in my FYP but not with the people aesthetics... horrible...)

I finally had enough for not doing anything productive but being "nuisance of some sort". I say my goodbyes to the people in the studios (but I'm truely sorry for not saying my goodbyes to the rest of my good friends at the main office) before I left Bugis to attend my small family dinner at Bukit Batok West Mall...

Evening of Wednesday.

I attended a small dinner with my immeidate relatives, my mother, my aunt and uncle, and also my distant relatives from Hong Kong, my cousin (actually, she is my maternal grandparents' grand-niece... cousin's cousin, you see... Generation gap lah) and her daughter, my niece, who is 25 year old, 4 years older than me... ha ha ha... She's giving a treat because both the mother and daughter are leaving Singapore back to Hong Kong.

A bit weird though... She caled me "cousin uncle"? Boy, I feel so old.

They are Hong Kongers but came to Singapore to work and they are very nice people.

Thursday.

I went back to SP to settle debts with my FYP teamamtes and managed to get back about $40 debts back. Now, only the millionaire Mike owes me $17. But sadly, even with the money claimed back, I used the $40 to pay my handphone bill... *Sob* (Can't spent it)

After that, I went to the Yew Tee Spoets Complex's swimming pools to meet up Chee Wee and Hong Yun for a swim at around 4pm. Andhika joined in an hour late, Chee Wee and I thought he would "fly kite" again.

Anyway, the swim was quite a treat of relieve for the hot weather these days. But the swimming pools' waters were also pretty warm...

After the swim, we went to eat out dinner at a nearby coffeshop. After that, Andhika went home, while the rest of us went to Edmund and Cindy's house (Chee Wee' cousins) to wait for the mahjong table and mahjong tiles set in which they were playing with their friends.

Meanwhile, we played Monopoly, Blackjack, Dai Dee and Showhand with Monopoly money, along with Huimin, who came later, till about 12am plus (the next day already!). Then, we finally got our mahjong table, mahjong tiles set, stools and others. We moved them to Huimin's house which is just right across the road.

From there and then on, we played mahjong along with Huimin's brother till about 6am in the morning... We were treated with some nice cooking of instant noodles by Huimin, in which we chow down so hungrily. We should be thankful to Huimin, she was still a bit sick from her fever.

(People, you all better take care of your self in this hot weather, okay? Too many people are falling sick.)

I almost lost money yessterday night (or today's morning), but I won it all back at the last "wind" and also won some money, because I kept winning the game as the "banker" for about 7 or 8 straight games.

Hong Yun was the biggest winner, who won a lot. I had a small win. Chee Wee and Huimin's combined gamble investment lost a little. And Huimin's brother was the biggest loser.

After that we were all tired and went back home to sleep...

Dinner & Dance.

Last weekend, last Saturday evening to last sunday early morning...

I attended the Annual Dinner & Dance 2004 organised by the ICT Club. It was actually a nice dinner & dance, but not exactly much of a "prom night". I just can't help to feel that the mood and feeling wasn't what I was expecting that evening, but yet I should already have expected it.

This is because a lot of people were missing. A lot of people who I or should I say, we went through a whole lot of hell in the course of Diploma in Multimedia Technology (DMMT). I bet everyone would agree to it, it was hell, that hell that binds us into friendship and camaraderie.

Friendship and camaraderie, no matter how deep it is, will always make sure we recognise each other for life...

Anyway, let's talk about the evening. Chee Wee and I took the MRT transit train down to Orchard MRT station. Chee Wee and I walked quite a distance to arrive at the Trader Hotel. Luckiy, the other nicely dressed two girls, Dawn and Jeslyn, and Andhika took a taxi to the Trader Hotel instead (or they'll be in pathetic state after the walk).

Surprisingly, Chee Wee and I were the first guests to arrive at the event, which suppose to start at around 6.30pm. I was the first guest to sign in their guest book. We waited at the reception area with our promised "cocktails" of softdrinks and snacks of potato chips... We chatted among ourselves and also with the handsomely and beautifully dressed organisers.

We waited for about 30 minutes I guess, when more and more people arrived for the event. The dinner holds about 12 tables only, with around a total of 120 seats. The dinner event finally got started when most guests arrived.

My table was number 5. On this table were seated by Andhika, Daphne (Cheryl's sister), Dawn, Jeslyn, Kent, Chee Wee, Jin Jian, Meng Kiat and I. Shian didn't come. There were other DMMT people also. They were Chee Hui, Lim Chee Wee (I shall name him Cute Wee now because he has same name as the other Chee Wee), Yuliang, Sidik, Samuel, Hafiz, Cheryl and her boyfriend Shaun sitting at other tables.

The whole dinner was fun with lots of games and other programmes hosted by a funny emcee hired. But when the dinner dishes finally started and served in a grand style, I was hungry enough to start gorging down all the delicious food, even they're not luxurious.

But by the time all the 9 dishes were all served, I am really very full... *Phew*

During the whole dinner, lucky draw was held, and our table was considered the luckiest as we got the most prizes. Daphne got the 1st prize, which is the most wanted Olympus digital camera. Dawn got the 3rd prize of a lucky hamper. Jeslyn got a prize of a fitness equipment prize of some sort. Andhika got the prize of a $50 voucher of The Wallet Shop and Meng Kiat got a $50 voucher of The Heeren. Jin Jian was supposed to get a prize, but he wasn't there when the lucky draw picked his prize. He went off with Cheryl, Shaun and Sidik to buy some alcoholic drinks for celebrations later. Ha ha!

The DMMT people also got some prizes. Samuel got a rpize but I forgot what it is. Sidik got the 2nd prize of a television set. Chee Hui got the 4th prize of (possibly unpopular and outdated) a Minolta laser printer.

Hence, the DMMT people were the luckiest people among all the guests that evening. We got the most prizes as well as sweeping the biggest prizes.

After the whole dinner ended at around 11pm, the dance was on. But most of the guests left instead. So the only people who were on the dance floor were the DMMT people of the ICT Club organisers and their friends.

But we still manage to get the best fun of all the fast as well as slow dances. Some of us drank some alcoholic drinks and playing some hand guessing games. I did drink some but really not alot as I was very full fom the dinner. I only drank half a glass of Jim Beam mixed with Coke (I think). I had most of my fun on the dance floor.

Meng Kiat and Chee Wee drank alot along with others and they were the ones obvious drunk. Meng Kiat was doing stupid things and Chee Wee wasn't really thinking properly.

The dance ended at 1am but we chatted at some seating area and dragged till about 3am before we left the hotel. Cheryl, Daphne and Shaun left and went back home first. The rest of the people, Kent, Jeslyn, Dawn, Meng Kiat, Chee Hui, Cute Wee and Yuliang went to a coffeeshop outside the old central National Library. Initially, Chee Wee, Hafiz, Andhika and I wanted to went back home, but in the end, we also went to the coffeshop to join the others (I wanted to go Chee Wee's cousin house for mahjong, but Chee Wee was drunk and very indecisive. While the other two latters wanted to join the rest of supper or something).

So for the rest of the night, we spend the whole time gossiping and chatting about other people we knew among us. It was evily fun and we all had our laughs before we went back home at around 6am plus. The rest took other different forms of transportation. I took the MRT train westwards with Cute Wee, and I was the one who did all the talking on the way home...

The next time I'll see them all the DMMT people would be at the Graduation Day Ceremony! Hope to see them all there then!

Long Day...

Yesterday, Wednesday.

I really had a long day yesterday. Not psychological or emotional tiring though, but physically. I did not have enough sleep the day before yesterday. As I had to watch one of my favourite variety show; I only slept for about 3 to 4 hours.

So yesterday morning, I woke up around 6am to prepare myself for the NAPFA test. As usual, wash my hair and face and brush my teeth, and ate my breakfast.

Then I set to take an one hour train ride to Toa Payoh and met Elvin there before we headed for the stadium. We arrived at the place just on time at 7.30pm.

But then we had to wait there for two whole hours, by then we're very lerthagic, especially me. At least Elvin got longer sleeping hours than me.

So after the two hours wait, I felt so weak physically. But maybe I wasn't really mentally prepared yesterday too...

So for only the first station, which is the pull-ups for 30 seconds, I only managed to do four pull-ups. Some of you may be surprised, because most of my friends knew I had no problems with that test item. I managed to pull 5 times up for my first NAPFA test in SP (and I definitely could pull even more). I could jolly well blame that oily pull-up bar which kept making my hands slipping.

You may think I'm trying to pull off my failure with some excuses here, that I just can't do it. But I could definitely prove you wrong straight away to do some pull-ups now.

Anyway, I am going to re-take the NAPFA test next week, again. And I'm gonna make sure that I'm gonna have enough sleep the night before and be mentally prepared.

I am not going to give up now.

After the failed NAPFA test, I left Elvin to do his test his own and went back to school (yes, the long train ride again...) to view the screening of all year three animation project works. But sadly, there wasn't much audiences attending the event.

The, I accompanied Shian and Syazali to eat lunch at KFC while Ahmad and Kenny Ong joined us a while later. We had quite a chat then.

After lunch, I went back to the computer lab for a while to surf net and then headed straight for a train ride all the way to Dhouby Ghaut to meet up Chee Wee and Meng Kiat for a LAN gaming session for straight four hours.

After that, we had dinner before we all went back home. It was around 10pm when I took the train all the way back home to the west...

It was really quite a long day (not to mention pretty unprogressive... heh...), with a total of about 3 to 4 hours of train ride in a day...

Summer Sunshine
by The Corrs

Everyone's changing, I stay the same
I'm... a solo cello outside a chorus
I've got a secret
It's time for me to tell that you've been keeping me warm

Just sweet beginnings and bitter endings
In coffee city we borrowed heaven
Don't give it back, I've never felt so wanted
Are you taking me home?

You tell me you have to go

In the heat of summer sunshine
I miss you like nobody else
In the heat of summer sunshine I'll kiss you
And nobody needs to know.

Now that you've left me, there's no retur-ning
I keep comparing, you're always win-ning
I try to be strong but you'll never be more wanted
Will you make me at home?

Don't tell me you have to go

In the heat of summer sunshine
I miss you like nobody else
In the heat of summer sunshine I'll kiss you
And nobody needs to know.

To sweet beginnings and bitter endings
In coffee city, we borrowed heaven
Don't give it back winter is coming
And I need to stay warm

In the heat of summer sunshine
I miss you like nobody else
In the heat of summer sunshine I'll kiss you
And nobody needs to know.

In the heat of summer sunshine
I miss you like nobody else
In the heat of summer sunshine I'll kiss you
And nobody needs to know.

Summery Vacations is Here!!!

Over the last weekend, Friday till Sunday...

Finally, I have finished my last and only exam paper on Friday! I am finally liberated of Singapore Polytechnic, School of Info-Communication Technology's nonsenses (perhaps some of my friends' nonsenses as well)!

I am excited and I am definitely ready to enjoy my new, fresh air of freedom to enjoy life!

But frankly and sadly speaking, in Singapore, you got to have some money to enjoy life. And sadly, that's what I don't have much of it right now... :(

So I decided to borrow some money from my mum first... (Hee hee...) And then while at playing all the fun, I gotta find my vacation job (and I hereby stress, it is going to be a "vacation" job), and then return the money borrowed from my mum later...

Since I would be only be enlisted on 20th August 2004 for my National Service or NS at Pulau Tekong (if I manage to get a Silver award for this upcoming Wednesday's NAPFA test, I could go in during September!)

Over this weekend that should be full of excitements, is pretty boring...

The last Friday was when my paper was finished, I really was hoping for an immediate celebration in order not to let the excitement of freedom to get down.... Although I did have plans to head for clubbing at Centro that night, the plans were off when my friend Chee Wee couldn't get enough people for the fun... (Aw... that was anti-climax)...

But next day, Saturday, my good friend Elvin visited my house before we went swimming at the Jurong East Sports Complex's swiiming complex nearby in my neighbourhood. During swimming, we met two of our old secondary school's National Cadet Corp's seniors. On of them was already in NS, while the other was like Elvin and I.

After the swim, I went to Elvin's house to use his home's PC as I couldn't use mine at home because my sister and her boyfriend was using it. So I surf the net using his PC for a while before he started playing his online game, Gunbound, while we chatted as we have not chatted face-to-face for too long.

For Elvin, I think he still haven't realised I have changed alot over this semester, in which we're all too busy to meet up. Those who knew me know that I'v changed, for good or for worst. I can only say I've matured more in dealing with social relationships and interpersonal relationships over this almost one whole year.

Now, I've a better mindset to be prepare for the so-called "real world" that is pretty ugly at times. Even though I'm not heading straight for work in the society, these new found social and interpersonal relationships skills I carry with me will definitely make me be more wary and cautions of the "evil" people working around us, who may hurt us one way or the other, for their own cause to reach their own goals.

"We can be strategic people, but we cannot be evil and despicable people to reach our own goals." ~ Eiizumi

But of course, for initial stages, I wouldn't carry so much hostilities against the new people I may meet in my life (that'll make me no different from those "evil" people out ther).

I am still a friendly person, I don't wanna destroy my reputation of being friendly...

But for now, I'm just gonna have my vacation fun at play and at work while waiting for my NS enlistment date...

The Infinite Period.

Yesterday & today.

A strong mix of both relaxation and tension. I am studying for my only, last final examination of the Ethics and Law of IT (ELIT) module. It should be an easy paper, if I pay attention in my lecture and tutorial classes, that is. But of course, I already did that.

I've already grabbed my 50% of passing this paper.

I am definitely confident on getting good marks for the upcoming paper. I could even study on the day before the paper, but I'm not going to be that over-confident. So all these days, I was basically remembering and revision of the facts and applications this module while doing it with some common sense.

To me, its just like my history paper I took during secondary school days.

But I'm not going to under-estimate anything yet.

Sometimes, I find the methods the lecturers taught for this module to answer the questions relating to the module rigid. Even the former lawyer turned lecturer was teaching the same way, but at least he encourage us not to be that stuck-up.

I'm definitely not the kind who follow those rigid methods. If I am a lawyer fighting in court, I'll definitely lose if I talk with no flexibility, even if I follow the factual laws stated properly. I have to argue my way properly through using my pen, without getting out of point.

Anyway, these days of studying for the exam paper was pretty relaxing, somewhat like holidays. I was 50% of the time studying, while another 50% was basically chatting with my friends online the net. This really made my studying more digestible.

Heh.

I really hope I could get through my last paper soon and graduate immediately. I just can't wait to have some fresh air and freedom. That's why I envy those friends of mine who already finished everything and are ready to graduate...

Relaxing, Lonely Weekend…

Last weekend.

Finally, I had my well deserved break for a few days without worrying about any unfinished assignment projects! This was especially needed after the long, draggy and horrible 3D animation assignment project.

My partner and I planned to end that project long time ago, but it kept giving us many over-challenging practical or aesthetic problems when we’re already late in handing it up a week ago!

It dragged day to day. Even when we finally finished the end product that day, we didn’t had enough CD-Rs o burn up all the files and hand them all in. I finally burned every file and hand them up all in on last Friday morning.

I really hate to see that sickening 3D animation project again; it is not even up to my minimal expectations. We even screwed up all the basic principles of 3D animation, 3D character design, story building and others.

Just hope that we wouldn’t do such stupid mistakes again in the future.

But luckily we’re not penalised seriously for handing our projects late, we have an understanding lecturer who risked his job of being shot by the rigid management of the SP School of ICT and to allow us as well as many other people’s assignments to hand in late unofficially and secretly.

I definitely felt our lecturer’s disappointment in all the lateness and our lack of enthusiasm in the last leg of this project period. Especially when he did initially encouraged everybody to aim for entry into the Asian 3D animation competition, COMGRAPH 2004. But in the end, I don’t think anyone got in any really good entries at all, those really good ones were not finished completely yet, or else there’s the originality problems in the some of the works.

But lecturer Ahmad is forgiving and he understands all these problems.

He said something like this, “Hope for the best, but expect the worst.”

“Some things just simply will not always go the way where we wanted to them to go. Sometimes, we’ll just have to let them be and let it pass... Pushing things too hard may just destroy them.” ~ Eiizumi

Our kind lecturer knew we have that passion (even though some were short-termed) of doing the art, but simply lack realistic plans, I guess. Some of us were absolutely over-ambitious (like my partner and I), while others lack self-confidence or was just slower in learning the art of 3D animation.

Anyway, I was spending a relaxing and lonely time at home. I got to sleep more and later than usual; I’m really tired after spending lots of time doing my projects and worrying about them.

Though relaxing, it was also lonely. Never had this kind of really, really lonely times for a long time… My home PC was down, so I couldn’t surf the net or go for any online communication with my friends. Although, I had a laptop in hand in which I installed some PC games to play with. But they just couldn’t keep my interests on too long.

So I was basically back to my secondary school days of relaxing hobbies, where I would read a nice book, listened to the radio waves or some good music that will make me feel, Or simply looking at that slowly changing skies and scenery outside my room windows while listening to the music playing in the air…

When I really got bored, it would be evening time already, just around the time when the sun is going to set. At that time, I would most probably go crazy. I do not mean mentally crazy then. I mean that I would be switching some of my favourite rhythmic music and dance to the beat!

If I had not enough of the crazy dances, I would immediately workout with some simple exercises with or without my dumbbells. I would be jumping up and down, walking around or even jogging on the spot in my room.

All these sweating out really got rid of my old stresses and kept my spirits alive. Of course, they also help me to be physically, emotionally and mentally fit.

But finally, I’m back to my normal, relaxing, lonely life…

I am trying to enjoy my life alone, but of course, I also yearned for companionship…
