Something is Missing in my Life...

Saturday, yesterday evening.

I've just feel that something is missing in my life... I do not know what is it, but it looks like I'm waiting for it... Even though I had fun with my friends together, I'm just feeling something was empty in my life...

Hmm... Maybe I'm feeling lonely...?

Shouldn't be that way, I got so many friends accompanying me.

Anyway, I went to play LAN gaming yesterday early evening with Chee Wee at the Selegie place. Played lots of games but I don't felt the kick of the fun like we always did in the past.

Maybe I've grown up or something?

After the LAN gaming, Chee Wee and I went to watch the Thai horror film, Shutter, meeting up with Bryan, Hong Yun, Alvin and Huimin.

The storyline was pretty much guessible and it was the make-up of the ghost that was doing the typical scare but the film shown fine visual aesthetics to display its unique horror.

Other than that, the horror film was as typically scary as compared to other Asian horror films.

It did not have the breakthrough like past Thai horror films.

I am expecting something to come and liven me up!

Time Flies...

This weekdays...

Ah... Time really flies... One more week I'll be POP (Passing Out Parade) and graduate from my Basic Military Training course. And I thought I still had two weeks to go (most probably because I had a long two weeks of almost non-stop training)!

Anyway, I'm so busy this week in the army. Almost everyday, I had a major thingy on or simply have lots of things to do. So tiring.

Monday. I had GAC (Grenade Assault Course) live grenade throw on the range on this Monday morning, even though I missed some of my GAC lessons as well as the GAC practice test.

The live grenade throw was quite fun, but I found that there was no kick to it. Maybe this was due to that I had little practices throwing my grenades accurately on my targets.

Though the explosion was really loud actually, but with ear plugs on and the bay walls in front of me during the throw. I couldn't feel the full force (but of course, if I did feel the full force, I would be dead man already).

I felt that playing with firecrackers and fireworks in Malaysia was more fun then the live grenade throw.

Instead, I was doing some training practices for my drill competition selection which was suddenly scheduled next day.

Not only that, in-between the drill trainings, I had to do rehersals of my company's CO Evening's performance selection on that evening that day! And my company was selected for CO Evening's performance competiion!

Tuesday. In the morning, I had my drill competition selection along with my drill teammates. But sadly we came quite close. We came to be the second. I did a few mistakes of my own during the drill selection, but I wasn't the main reason we lost.

But this also meant that we couldn't enter the finals to compete against BMTC School 2. Anyway, I didn't really cared after that.

What is lost, is lost anyway.

I should have IPPT test during the afternoon, but I didn't take it because I already gotten a silver award already, so I had the free time to relax for a while.

Wednesday. I had CO Muster Parade early in the morning, which was boring.

In the afternoon, I had BAC or Basic Assault Course. The BAC was basically getting down dirty in the mud doing all the sorts of crawl on the sand, mud and water and chiong suah, charging at dummy figures performing close combat techniques.

In the evening, we had our CO Evening, which was basically doing our performance, with me acting as a dwarf of one of the seven dwarfs in the hilarious, mixed-up stories of Cinderella and Snow White. We named our skit as "Disney Remixed".

Our performance was funny and pretty much X-rated. Another company's performance was even more better and steady than ours. So my company's perfomance came in second place.

Although we lost, we still had some fun and enjoyed much at the CO Evening watching all the dances and songs performed by the SAF MDC (Music Drama Company).

Thursday. Today, the major big event was the 16km route march with the dreaded FBO (Full Battle Order) of about 15 to 20 kg.

But luckily, because the next day was the Games Day, our standard FBO was fill with a packet of towel and some clothes, a ziploc bag of air and some newspapers, to make it looked "full".

It had rained extremely long and heavily during the afternoon though, and I thought the route march was cancelled.

But they suddenly called us up to fall-in within 7 minutes for the route march after dinner time!

And so I was caught unprepared as I had unpacked all the correct stuff for my field pack, instead I was already packed for my book-out day.

Damn, I really hated last minute shits.

But anyway, we had our happy and wonderful 16km route march till about 11pm that night. In which we may a hell lots of noise which disturbed our Alpha and Bravo companies neighbours, and perhaps our close Delta nieghbour just in front of our company line.

Friday. And so the next day, on Friday, Alpha and Bravo companies was "attacking" on my Charlie company.

Thye tried hard to make noises in the morning to wake us up behind our company line. But luckily, we all were prepared with ear plugs or our own audio devices. They didn't affect us much.

But after that, we were at "war". Charlie company was at "war" with Alpha, Bravo and Delta companies. We were taunting each other every time we had the chance.

Perhaps it was because that day was also the BMTC Games Day. So the "fighting" spirits was high.

So at the games, outnumbered by Alpha, Bravo and Delta companies, Charlie company allied with the neighbouring Ninja and Leopard companies.

Actaully, I did not think most of us that our main concentration was on the silly games, but it was the "fighting" between companies.

The main "warring" companies were Bravo, Delta, Charlie and Ninja companies. The rest of our relative allied companies mainly stand ground.

Bravo and Delta sometimes came up to our front to confront us, while in return Ninja and Charlie rallied together to confront Bravo.

Bravo initially got our mascot's head but Charlie managed to got it back. We were ordered by our instructors to protect our mascot and to mind any infiltrators from other companies. We were allowed to do anything with the captured infiltrator.

We caught one, and we pulled him into our Chalie crowd and out the trash bin onto him and whacked the trash bin on him. We released him upon order of our sergeant. The poor Bravo infiltrator came out blur like a sotong but was not injured.

Delta's reaper mascot tried to confront us alone, but his reaper sickle was stolen by us and given to Ninja, whose Ninja sword was stolen by Delta.

Orion company's mascot also came to disturb us with Bravo but his helmet was taken away by us. In the end, we return it to them, Orion became neutral in thw "war"

At times, things got a bit violent.

Delta came from behind to confront Charlie but was bombarded by some Ninja's water balloons. In the end, some Delta guys threw cakes and even drink cans at us, but that caused them to be warned by the games organisers and reprimanded by instructors as they were dirtying the place and it was dangerous throwing the cans.

But after all the fun, fighting and a bit of violence, Charlie came out at the place, out of about 19 companies in the games. While Leopard took first, Bravo took second and Ninja took third place in the games.

Although Charlie was was abit sad and disappointed losing to Bravo, as they kept taunting at our lost to them in some games events and the game itself, we were happy that our allied were all in the top placings.

And also, most of us got some block leave from our Charlie OC just by participating in some of the events and also the CO Evening performance.

In the end, all people in the Charlie company were happy as we are united.

Detest The SIT Tests?

From this week's Tuesday to Saturday...

I'm having my SIT (Situation) Test at the outfields supposedly from Tuesday to Thursday. The test is important for those who are interested in going to commanding schools like SISPEC (School of Infantry Specialists) or OCS (Officer Cadet School).

I wanted to go higher of course in my NS life, so I had to do my SIT test.

But disappointingly, I failed to complete a 8km road march to the campsite due to cramps. Seriously I can't continue the march as my both of legs' different muscle groups were cramping periodically then. And so I was adviced by Sergeant Damien to fall out and so I did.

I thought it wasn't going to be a problem that they wouldn't let the SIT Test just when I'm missing 1km plus of distance left. But I was wrong.

So in the end I was DISQUALIFIED from doing my SIT Test then. They said I wasn't combat fit to do so? But what the fuck?! I'm not combat fit just because I had some cramps?

Anyway, so like other fall-outs who had their real own medical problems and reasons, the SIT Test drop-outs were left to rot their time doing sai gang (labour jobs and such) or simply sitting somewhere doing nothing.

So for Tuesday I was doing nothing much after some training lessons.

I find it was so much waste of my time and my life, at the outfields doing nothing.

For Wednesday, it was almost the same thing in the morning, till I took the military truck tonner back to my company line (our barrack bunk) to refill water supply for the company.

But luckily some of us were staying at the company line to do more sai gang for the storeman there. I was with Joseph, my platoon mate who also fall-out during another route march. We had some good times at the company line when we had no more sai gang to do, we went back to our bunk to take a shower and rest a bit.

But later back to saig gang and we were loaded back to the tonner back to the SIT Test campsite again.

But I was told to pack-up my stuff there, as I'm going for my re-SIT Test from Thursday to Saturday. And so back to the company line again, I was reset to prepare for my SIT Test yet again.

The next day, I was suppose to have other company mates with me to do the re-SIT Test. But they all reported sick.

So I was the only person from my Charlie company to re-do the SIT Test. I was sent to the Orion company, the company conducting the SIT Test.

Along with other various companies' of Delta, Foxtrot, Orion, Pegasus and Whiskey, the total of 24 recruits and other sian specialists and officers were doing this sian thing together.

The 8km route march to our campsite was unsyncronised and boring. No one could really know how to sing a full army song properly, including me. The route match was less stressful then the usual but it was certainly very boring in the later part when we were running out of gas.

Due to the fact that we are from different schools as well as companies of different disciplinary standards, the whole SIT Test process was very senang. The conducting officer was pretty slacking in his demands, and he was very welfare to us.

Anyway, there was only two SIT Test details, Alpha and Foxtrot teams, each of 12 men. I was assigned to the Alpha team and was the detail in-charge. I was appointed to the job of being the navigator (to read map, compass and navigate).

It was the most senang job. I did not really had to tough time doing my job except when the bloody route markers on the ground level were wrong!

Fast we came, and fast we went. My team fail every mission under a different mission in-charge. I also failed my missions being as the mission leader in-charge and also the 2nd in-charge.

But for all, I didn't really mind we failed our missions as I thought that although all the latters in my team did not really knew each other, we worked out pretty well. Nobody was really complaining about each other and nobody was stirring trouble as we all tried to help out and cooperated even though we were all pretty much a demoralised bunch.

After our SIT Test missions, we always have a long stretch of free time to do absolutely anything we want as long as we do not do anything stupid.

But for the Friday night, it was the worst outfield night I ever had as it was raining hard throughout the night. My basha (or tents) was flooded and we ahd to move to sleep in the training shed.

But I was so cold and wet, I could not sleep well and enough.

I was glad I completed the senang SIT Test anyway, even though I think I was a bit not use to the more senang discipline of it.

The Incredibly Superb Movie!

Love it the movie! Love the storyline, the animation and the characters! One of the best animations and movie of this year. MUST WATCH!

Saturday afternoon. I went to Funan IT Mall along with Chee Wee to shop for our first Christmas gifts! Our audio devices for our NS life that is!

Chee Wee went to buy a new Sony FM tuner.

I went to buy the new Sony CD Walkman, the black D-NE900!

 Posted by Hello

Cool and black, dull the colour it never will be!

Reason of buying a new audio device? My 4 year old plus Samsung YP-E32 MP3 player is dying! I'll still be using the MP3 player for other times for itsd full usability lifespan!

Without any audio device to listen to some good live music around, I'll die during NS!
+
Saturday night. Mahjong Session overnight. I am again the big winner!

Sunday evening Dinner with Joseph, Chee Wee and Jin Jian at the MOS Burger in Bugis Junction. Watch the free complimentary movie (again) Taxi later. The movie was certainly funny and sexy... Laughed a lot! Relieve the NSF training stress!

The not fun Monday evening... Went back to camp! Going for my SIT (Situation) Test in the outfields! The test important for me to go commanding schools!

Holiday Week!

The weekdays of this week.

Yeah! I'm finally back from my army training again for this long holiday weekend.

Well, I'm finally getting use to the physical and mental needs of my training. My attitude is still basically the same, "Try and get over it, then conquer it!"

Though still not as successful as I really wanted, I'll still keep on trying.

: )

I wanted to be progressive, not drastic changes that drives me berserk!

The three days of training I had were pretty slack!

For Monday, my whole platoon had some infamous "Roti-Prata" (QUICK Crunches Sit-Up position, changing to Push-Up positions) punishments from Sergeant Damien as we were late for assembling. We don't hate it as much as before. We all treat it as extra exercises.

After that we had some IPPT specific training. Chicken feed. Less painful than roti-prata. But having too much push-ups, my inverted bend elbows are straint. Certainly, it freaks some of my instructors who always asks whether I'm okay to continue.

After the IPPT training, we had GAC (Grenade Assault Course) lesson. Simply we're training how to throw grenades in different positions and distances. It might seem easy to throw.

But it is harder to throw to that of the needed distance to the target area with SBO and with the rifle. Of course, I missed. I was concentrating mainly on the safety procedure grenade drill. The distance can wait.

For Tuesday, the main event for the day was the IPPT test evaluation 2 in the morning. I managed to get a Silver award for it, as I'm in much better condition in 2.4km run and chin-ups, than of the last IPPT test.

Though I admit I must train my chin-ups abit more to stabilise the results. The instructor, 2LT Boon, testing for my chin-ups could have "no count" some of my chin-ups for technique faults.

Anyway, the rest of the day was free time rest and rest and rest!

But I couldn't rest much.

As I'm called up for some drill competition training
(and its only the second training the Charlie Company elite drill team had) in whihc the competion is next week!

For Wednesday, the main event for the day was the dreaded SOC trial. My rundown was cool, I determine the speed anyhow, slow or fast, waliking or running. Tiring I am though, but I'm concentrating on overcoming all the obstacles as smoothly as possible.

So what's the thing I'm still get over so far for my SOC? The low wall of my SOC. But gladly, its the only obstacle I need to overcome. I finally got to reach the height of the low rope obstacle! The rest were cleared by hook or by crook. Ha ha.

For Thursday, yesterday, I was with most of my section mates as well as some my platoon mates having fun at the Siloso Beach near Sunset Bay. We had some tanning, swiming, and played beach volleyball at the sandy court (in which I paid for but I didn't play much at all as the sand is too hot!), kayaking.

I love the kayaking session, except that I'm being bullied by Eddie cos' he kept on splashing water on me...

( - . - )|||

After that, I left the rest of the guys to have their own fun of beach soccer. I went to Chee Wee's cousin's house, Edmund's, to play some mahjong. I was the biggest winner. Looks like my love life is gonna be stale (as a Chinese saying goes, "Winner in gambling, loser in love!"

Ha ha!

Being A Soldier...

Ever since about two weeks ago...

Finally I'm back to my free weekend from my tough training of BCCTs, SOCs and the dirty and wet 7-day field camp.

Tough they were, I managed to overcome some and also get over some. I did not manage to overcome all, but at least I did not stop there.

SOCs were on for my first three days. It was very tough for me. Especially with extra weights from my SBO (Skeleton Battle Order), which weigh about 4kg and my rifle of about 3kg.

Even the low wall I am unable to overcome it my own, to jump up and get over it (before that, we had some serious running of hundreds of metres...) I needed some push from my sergeants.

Parallel bars was also another. With my high inverted bended elbows, it was strenuous to lift myself up. I got some encouragement from a Major officer who was on the look for my first SOC with SBO. But in the end I made it and got over.

The next tough obstacle was the low rope. Obviously, when I reached that obstacle, I was pretty shagged. That too, I needed some help from my sergeants. But at least I improved already.

At least I'm progressively improving in my SOC, though I am abit disappointed with my performance initially.

Next was the 7-day field camp.

Tough. Dirty. Sweat. Uncomfortable. Muddy. Smelly. Wet. Sores. Bruises. Scratches. And swarms of mosquitoes (one clap at a swarm I could get at least two or three. No joke!)

That's all I really need to summarise how am I living in extremely less dense jungle environment (I can start imagining what could happen in an extremely dense jungle) for my field camp.

During the field camp. My section has bonded with our Sergeant Damien, which he was in-charge of. He like our section as we were fun and also pretty garang.

This Damien demon isn't really much of a demon, from close talks we had with him at times.

He's actually one year older that us. Maybe his huge size and fierceness made us felt smaller or something (He looked like he's around middle 20s though).

But he's a good sergeant. Sergeant Damien only is fierce or tough with us only when we're not performing well enough.

Actually he's pretty much like us. NSF attitude. Serve and fuck off. Slack he might want, but he need to do his job also. So he skipped our field training lessons or simply passed our tests which he and my section find them useless.

But I think being a small me, I caught his attention. Maybe I am looking over-gan jiong at certain times (I'm not the worst in mysection, there's others). He always come and disturb (ghee siau) me in a "fun" way.

He says he like small people, evn for girlfriend...

(-.-)|||

Duh! Stop it lah! STOP CALLING MY NAME UNNECESSARILY!

You fucking idiot! (<<< Sergeant Damien's favourite vulgar line)

But I'm trying to ignore his nonsense anyway. Really irritating...

My section even had lunch with the Sergeant Damien, Sergeant Fok and 2LT Raj today, after our live "fun" jog (Fun? Wasting our time only...) of 3km at the Marina City Park this morning.

It is a weird feeling being with Damien in civilian life. Calling Damien instead of "Sergeant!" (I'm still trying to ignore him) is a weird feeling. Feeling dangerous in some sense...

Hope I wouldn't accidentally call him Damien in camp. Or I confirmed kena from him one.

Anyway I got two albums today at the HMV CityLink. One is my favourite idol, Sun YanZi's new album "Stefanie, and the other is Fish Leong's new album "Wings of Love". I'm going to enjoy them.

Entertainment is a luxury now! Let some music KILL my tireness!

Hee!
