Welcoming 2008!

Finally, the new day of a new year is going to arrive.

For a summarised conclusion for 2007, I think it sucks becos’ I missed out most of my 2007 old year resolutions. The comforting things are I gained some things and learnt some things that is no in my 2007 list.

But all that is past, and I wish to move forward. So f**k off 2007, I hate you! You're of no positive progress at all!

Now for the coming 2008, apart from getting a new job that I’ve waited for so long and hoping to get rid of my current job, here are some of my 2008 New Year resolutions.

1) Slim down and tone up to get in a nice shape of 49kg.
2) Get a diving license.
3) Go for a tour in Paris.
4) Get a driving license.
5) Get a girlfriend, and then dump her and get a new one again! (Okay, this one is a joke)

To reach my goals, these are the principles I'll base on:

1) Loyalty to money
2) Leadership
3) Discipline
4) Professionalism
5) Fighting spirit
6) Ethics
7) Care for love ones

Anything more I’ll update again.

Just went for my cousin Deric's wedding engagement ceremony + high tea at Raffles Town Club. He's marrying my new cousin-in-law Jael.

They sure look perfect for each other!

"I Am Legend"

Bear-bear = Jeffery. So this is what a legend is about =P

Went to pass ah June her Chirstmas gift (its not a belated Christmas gift, Chirstmas last for 12 days!) and went to watch the movie "I Am Legend" acted by Will Smith.

I was surprised that she bought a gift in return too. A bright coloured T-shirt. Its a nice shirt. Hope I can wear it when I don't have to be so serious on my attire code events.

The movie is nicely made but the story theory goes a bit like that of "Cast Away". There's psychology breaking down as there is social isolationism, and there is reaching of the purpose of the main character. But there is also a bit of the aftermath which made the story go non-climax.

The way to describe it is like having sex but the orgasm didn't come in the end even though its almost.

Merry Christmas!

Open your presents! Now, let's take alook at my presents I received. Pretty practical they are but I love them, and I love the people who gave them to me even more!

~~~~~
On last Sunday, Zane and I went to watch the movie National Treasure: The Book of Secrets. It was a nice and exciting movie, but I prefer the first National Treasure movie which the treasure hunt's clues were more intricate within histories.
(And talking about movies, I received free movie vouchers from my cute agent Evon. And I thank her too!)
And first gift I would show is one given by my dear Zane, wrapped in my favourite bear-bear wrapping paper.
Focus!
Her gift was practical. She knew I broke my water bottle and simply gave me another one. But what's on the bottle itself contains some wise advices.
"Focus:
When you completely focus on where you want to go, the world steps aside to let you pass.
Whenever you set a goal you cannot foresee the difficulties and obstacles that await you. You can only see one thing clearly, and that is your goal.
Create a crystal clear image of your goal in your mind and hold it in your heart. Your focus will be a compass that will guide you through the unknown territory you will travel, and the obstacles you will overcome."
Well, I hope whatever is wisely written there works for me.
I seem to be lost after I realised what I always worked hard and focused on may not always I get, something I learn it this year.
I want to be focus again. Viva France! Viva France!
~~~~~

Now for the second gift I'm showing is the one from the gift exchange from my west-side gang that Friday. I got a hanging pouch.

Great for putting my stuff when my pants is tight =)

Getting..

.. poorer and poorer this month. I really spent a lot this month and I'm getting into small debts here and there, but fortunately people are also having credits on me so I'm quite balanced in terms of debt and credit management.

Not to mention splurging on Christmas gifts.

Still, I think I better stop going out partying for this Christmas Day's Eve and New Year Day's Eve. I am sick of clubbing, financially. I can still go clubbing but I doubt I could spend anymore on drinks. Not to mention the bloody cab fares have increased significantly.

I think I have been clubbing every weekend since ZoukOut. Its time to stop.

~~~~~
Celebrating Early Christmas with My West-Side Gang
Went out to celebrate Christmas with my west-side gang with a small gathering with some good food and fun. They are Huiyan (Faith), Shiling, Chee Wee, Alvin (Chipmunk), Kelly and Hong Yun (Thomas).
First, we went to eat at a coffeeshop's restaurant near Holland V for a good dinner. We ordered many variety of dishes and they are all very nice, but surprisingly the price is cheaper than I expected.
Cheap but yummy dinner!
Next we headed down to Holland V's Hagen Daz for some desserts while exchanging our Chirstmas gifts. I bought something which is suitable for both guys and girls to consume, and personally wrapped the gift with recycled materials and it came our nice.
Kelly was the one who got my gift and I hope she likes it. And I got my gift from Chee Wee which is a hanging pouch, just in time for use to put my wallet and handphone in as my jeans are too tight for those personal items >.<
Thank you, Chee Wee = )
Ice cream scoops for desserts
My mystery gift wrapped. Nice?
After the dessert session, we all headed down happily to the nearby Settlers Cafe where we had fun for about 2 hours.
All these are definitely better (and cheaper) than clubbing =P
Lancing Lancing @ Movida x MoS Hop
Went clubbing last night. Totally no kick for the drinks. I guess I didn't really drink enough.
Before all the clubbing was movie at Plaza Singapura with Chee Wee, Shiling, Huiyan and Alvin, to watch the show "Alvin and the Chipmunks". It was funny as the movie kept on calling on for our friend =)
After that I got down to St. James for the Foodies Club's lancing lancing event at Movida, St. James. And there were Vel, Sharon, Thomas, Vanessa, Gabriel, Tara, James and Travis.
Latino Live @ Movida!
Vel drank a lot and I'm sure others should have drank a lot too. But it just seems to me they're not partying as crazy as the last time. Even I wasn't so heat up.
Was feeling a bit demoralised after so many people giving negative comments on my shirt which I bought from J.B. Liew. Gen was saying the shirt's nice.
What "Ah Beng" lah, "Gay" lah. Maybe its too floral and I guessed it doesn't really all add up..
Just sucks lah. Spoiled my mood then.
Anyway, June and Chee Keong got to join me at Movida but I decided we should go somewhere which the music is more familiar to them, and so we just head down to the MoS. On my way, I changed that damn shirt.
After that it was all less than normal partying, though.
Luckily, C.K. was them to keep the mood lively, after such a long time I didn't see him.
Happy 2nd Birthday MoS!
"The Big 2" is the name of the event of MoS's 2nd Anniversary Birthday. And that's what I went for yestedray without even realising its my beloved club's birthday.
Seems so fast, time sure flies. But MoS is not exactly the place its used to be. But In time, its gonna come back I think. Owing to competition from newere clubs and bars, MoS crowd is lesser but still its a hip place as more foreigners and ang mo gores there. And also more kiddos.
Though its this way, I guess there are pros-and-cons. Kiddos bring in the youthfulness "old" people can't do. Foreigners bring in the hyp and open-ness. In Time local clubbing culture could be a very different and more happening thing.
~~~~~

Anyway along with Vel and Gen, there's Hong Yun, Kelly and her triple of friends, Alvin, Huiyan, and even Eric went.

First we went Smoove floor of cos'. The place wasn't happening at first becos' the club staff were directing all of the people to the Main Arena to attend the event for the club's birthday, which most of us weren't actually interested. But becos' of the suspension of entry into Smoove, and the floor got cold, Gen, Vel and I went to the main arena.

Dang! First there was some Ostrich-feathered dancers trying to dance the Brazilian way. And then, there was a new young, band playing their gig down there for a performance demo. Initially I thought the whole gig was gonna be crap becos' I wanted to dance to some music, not attend a mini rock concert.

But the young and hip band shown in their performance that they are passionate. Admiration for their professionalism. They really perform well and a couple of their song are nice.

Gig play @ MoS!

But when after everything was over. We all headed back to Smoove and started grooving to the HipHop R&B music. Vel had to dance with us anyway, even though she doesn't really like "black" music. But Gen and I were just dancing our ass off at the dancefloor. Alvin was definitely grooving.

Alvin dancing hard. The rest also giggled hard =P

And it was also surprising to see Huiyan the Majongrella late at club, drinking more than I usually see her do, and moving her hips.

But definitely, it was thanks to Hong Yun and Kelly, who got us a bottle of Chivas, which made us all happy merrying and hipping all the way all nice! A THANK YOU to them!

The rest of the time, I was dancing and doing my thing with Gen and Alvin.

Glad everyone had fun =)

My First Outing with Foodie Club Peeps

Becos' my mum's away from hom in Shanghai, I'll be having dinner take-aways, which I don't like.

So I chose to join the Foodies Club from Facebook to have dinner together, even though it was without Vel. And the attendance was 15 in all.

There was Sharon, Kenneth, Gabriel and etc, etc, etc. I guessed the the lead actor should be Alan (the creator of Foodies Club) and his family, his wife, a dentist and their thrid child Nathan. And he's so cute. Kept taking my pictures with his mummy's handphone and trying to show me the pics after he just snapped me.

Dinner was nice with lots of good food, like there is the Shark's Fins in Spinach. Though the wole dinner was quite expensive but I guess it wasn't too bad a price to pay as it is less than housed restaurant, a restaurant in the Redhil HDB area.
After dinner we had, extremely, extremely nice donuts with sweet sugar-coatings from Australia brought in my Deborah who just came back to Singapore from there. The brand name is Kremie ... something, I forgot the brand but its really damn good.

Its very, very much better than Singapore's donuts craze.

After the whole dinner, we went to Adrian's own wine bar at Tanjong Pagar, Wine Affair, without the creator's familiy and a few of the members.

There, we had some good wine and chat. It was really nice even though I'm not talking much as I was tired after I woke up damn early for today's morning for a run with a rare dose of sunshine.

But the Foodies Club is really an interesting group to hang out with. Just to enjoy life and have fun. Will like to join them again =)

When Cute Things Gets..

.. sexual violence!!!

ROFL. This is what happens when I gave my cousin Vel a "Christmas Tree". LOL.

Everyday Rain..

Well, its the monsoon season. So I wouldn't be complaining so much even though I really hate you. Making my mornings feel like in "Genting Highlands". My mood is more or less affected somewhat.

But then again, rain now better than rain over my weekends, which I want sunshine.

Hope I can run my feet instead of running my nose. I hate you.

Passed an early Christmas gift to Evon. She said she's touched to get it all the way in rainy Woodlands.

One down, many to go. Still have X'mas gifts I haven't buy. Lol. Yesterday went Causeway Point also bought myself something instead of buying other people's gifts.

ZOUKOUT 2007!

From night till daybreak!: Its just amazing to see show lights, laser lights, starlight and daylight at this ZoukOut altogether!

Went for ZoukOut 2007 last night, shaking from the night till morning!

Totally rocks man. Haven't been dancing so long for such a long time. And it feels really great as its quite an experience for me.

I guess its the same for Sharon who finally came out on the temptation the very final minute to join me and Vel for this ZoukOut as it is gonna be the last ZoukOut on the Siloso Beach. Other than Sharon, Kenneth the army boy also joined us.

After meeting at Harbour Front Centre's McDonald's (in which I waited for an hour for everyone to come), we finally took a bus at 12.30am and when we really, really got onto the dancing beach area to get to Vel's friends, it took us another hour queueing for tickets, queueing to get in and wriggling our way through the very large crowd.

Treated everyone drinks for the night and we all really had fun dancing. Surprisingly, the one who dance without really stopping was Sharon. Now who's the one who kept saying she's old (she herself say lo)? Even the army boy Kenneth who's only 18 was the first one to stop dancing. Age doesn't matter, especially for dancing stamina.

After ZoukOut, we all went back to Singapore mainland and headed to Plaza Singapura's Cafe Cartel where we all had a nice breakfast together in a sunny drizzly morning =)

Went to sleep for about 8 hours after I got home. And now waking up, I feel my muscles' battery is still flat. Need proper food now! =P

J.B. Getaway!

I took leave today so that I can join Gen, Jo and Wendy to go J.B. for some shopping there. Even though Vel didn't go, I decided to go anyway becos' I need to get my Christmas gifts for my friends.

Didn't see Jo and Wendy since our last and only outing 2 years ago, and after never really ctach up at all. But somehow we still manage to click pretty well. Maybe becos' they like to take care of the only "xiao di di", and the only MAN to protect them at high-crimed J.B. Lol.

Think I got the most things to talk about with Wendy. Talking about water-sports and clubbing encounters of "Young Guys Hitching Mature Ladies" experiences.. Lol. Just shocking how looks can be really deceiving at times.

And so we all met up in Kranji to take a bus into J.B. Before we started, we concluded Gen was the most "Singaporean" and most vunerable to robbery, so I'm expected to stick close to her. Yeh, I believe I should as she was pretty in red from top-to-toe, super-ominous as a crime target as she don't look local there.

Anyway, we got through the customs safely and and got into City Square.

We had our "Brunch" (combination of Breakfast and Lunch) at a Hong Kong Mongkok cafe, not really nice though.. Three of us ordered chicken chop in tomato sauce rice except Wendy. The chicken kinda have a funny raw chicken smell even though its thoroughly cooked..

Not exactly nice Brunch set.

Jo gave up on her meat and gave it to me. And I just ate it hoping its birdflu-free. Lol. Damn the chicken chop they gave for my plate was smaller than everyone else's.

After "Brunch" was the start of the shopping session. Never got bored shopping with them as I'm being asked for opinions on what they should get. Pays off being a magazine designer who do fashion pages and shopping with FRIENDS. Gave them good advice as much as I can.

Didn't really shop for my own stuff till when we reached a shop and I got to see this unique shirt (most probably for clubbing) said to be imported from Japan. Nice on me, unique and not really very expensive. And so I bought that for myself.

After I further bought gifts for Evon, Sheryl and Vel. Didn't find anything suitable for Zane, June and Sharon. Cos' whatever I saw, I bought something of that type of gift and gave them before or it just don't suit them for their character I think.

Its especially fun shopping at a jewellery shop when a shop assistant asked if I'm buying anything for my girlfriend, and I said no. For someone I like? No. What to buy a necklace set so their I can get free teddy bear which had the words "I Love You"? No.

And I just told her I buying for six different ladies with different characters. And then almost immediately, her other colleagues got to swarm me with lots of other choices but I only got to buy one piece of gift for one of the lucky girls. Lol. Its just amusing, feel like I'm some rich man or something.

After more shopping, we all got a bit tired and went for our hig tea at Secret Recipe which they said was cheaper than in Singapore's. We all got to enjoy nice cakes and for me a nice cafe latte with chicken pie.

Poor Wendy and Gen were both sick actually. Gen ordered a chocolate cake but gave it up and in the end exchanged with my warm pie with her. Wendy got more unwell by then but was still able to keep up a great conversation while the other two went for a smoking-break.

High Tea food!

Jo and Gen smoking on cheaper buys.

Girl acting cute!

After that, Wendy left to go back to her home in J.B. first while the rest of us shopped a little longer and finally went back to Singapore in a short jam at the Causeway.

Never had such a J.B. experience for quite some time. Shopping. Food. And jam.

Going to try next time if there's another chance =)

My "Date in a Cab"

Remember my 31 year old "fling" on the last, last Friday?

Turn out that she's working near my working place and live in Jurong East, maybe about 20 - 30 minutes away. More, she loves jogging in the same area (even though she live far from it) that I usually jog in and loves to club like me.

Even more crazy, we've been wearing the same colour to work these two days. Seriously ridiculously "qiao" (conincidental), that we became close chat buddy online, chatting every day till my another online chat buddy, Sheryl, got a bit jealous (okay, this one its me being thick-skinned, lol).

Today after work, it was raining heavily, forgot my umbrella. And she was keen on taking cab home due to her aching legs from her re-newed jogging regime, and so I got to "date" her by sharing a cab. Went to fetch her from her office building and had a nice chat in the cab while getting stuck in traffic on the expressway home raining.

Funny, and just like that, I got suddenly got a new cab-sharing friend home and a new work lunch-date to lunch with from time to time. Too bad, I'm changing my job in about another two months.

Romantic eh? Aiya, don't think too much lah you peeps out there. Lol.

Love is like A Sandcastle

Some say love is like a sandcastle
One that needs to be build, protected, maintained and decorated.
Build to become bigger so its big enough for both futures to be in.
It needs to be protected from big and small waves.
Maintain it after the waves damages it here and there
It also need to be decorated nicely so you would one to protect it.

So who's going to make this sandcastle work with me?

I'm Hot

"Somewhere~ Beyond the sea~ Somewhere waiting for me~"

If you found the above line familiar, it is from the song "Beyond the Sea". And that is the song I wanted to sing to my dear FRIEND yesterday when we went windsurfing yesterday.

Before that we had nice time trying to serach for McDonald's at Changi Aport from T2 to T1 then to T2 again. I had a nice Big Breakfast meal though, and FRIEND got her hotcakes.

For the windsurfing, as usual for this season, the winds are still unpredictable. Although at start was pretty good, after that it was all too unpredictable.

FRIEND was adventurous and the winds blown her very far out at sea, even though she tried her best to sail back. And from the look of it at my "safe" area nearer to the beach, I think she was 3 times the normal football field length away.

(But not to worry, she have a lifevest on. And her adventurous spirit made me feel that she wasn't in much fear out there as its the consequences she'll have to bear.)

Becos' the winds were still monsoon and were quite strong, even I dared not to surf too far out, especially after seeing FRIEND so far out. Lol.

I only decided to go back to shore (after a strenuous paddling back) when I decided its quite long that she's been far out and doubt she wouldn't have the energy to sail back, then that I called the recuse boatman to go and save her.

So much for of she telling me that, "Wow. The boatman have to rescue people so early", when we reached the place in the morning. Even the rescue boatman recognised her le as she's frequently rescued. lol.

And when I reached shore, I didn't went back to the waters to try and surf again becos' the winds are just crazy changing its directions and its strong as well. My energy is even more drained when I have to paddle my surfboard back.

After that I just slack on the beach and waited for FRIEND to come back. I had a good suntan with FRIEND after we return all our equipment. I'm well-roasted.

Its just feels good to relax like that on a beach and just chat and chill =)

~~~~~
After the surfing and tan, we washed up and took a bus to Dhouby Ghaut area to help FRIEND hunt for a pair of heels to fit a beautiful black dress, glammed with gold-dust for her four wedding dinner invitations.
Before that, we had Pasta Mania. There we were having more nonsense with each other on food and others, and also arguing why I'm not adventurous enough to try and eat those different variety of snack eats in Plaza Singapura but went to a restaurant. Lol.
After our meal, we started the hunt. Comparing all those heels, I suggested to her that its best to get those black glossy textured heels with thin straps for the design. She tried many from different shops and ultimately we both preferred one from Charles & Keith but they don't have any stock available or even nearby.. Too bad. It really fit her I think.
But due to time limit, I headed back home to have a family dinner while she headed for VivoCity for more of her shopping.
Shopping with FRIEND is always enjoyable, cos' I get to be asked for suggestions and get to tease her a bit as well =)
